Born To Be King

Kidd walks down the quiet corridor of the asylum and as he rounds a corner he can hear a soft lullaby being sung , he stands at the door way in silence and watches his wife cradling and small bundle and gently rocking him to sleep ,after a couple of minutes Kidd softly knocks the open door ,nubbs looks up at Kidd
"Hello sweetheart ...sorry im late " he smiles

"OHHH Kid, thank god you are alright as I was worried about you! Come and see your son, would you like to hold him?" I smile and hold the babe out from me so Kid can take a hold of him...

Kidd smiles and sits on the edge of the bed ,he takes his new son from nubbs ...."A true King ....your going to go far son"
he leans over to nubbs and gives her a Kiss..."he's perfect nubbs...im so sorry i couldnt be here for you"

Kidd stands up and takes his son to the window , the sun is high in the sky now and he can see right across the bay , over to the west he can just make out "Gunners peak"..he quickly looks away ,like he is tryng to block out the memorys of that morning
he turns and faces towards the town ,he lifts his son up and says "one day this will be all yours son" he laughs and turns around to nubbs , "ive always wanted to say that"
he walks back to the bed ..."so darling ...what are we going to call this little pirate"

"I like Orion James, or Christopher Blue. But It'sa your decision since I brought him into the world." I say as I sit up in bed...

many a dark night that constellation has led me safely back home

everyone should be getting back soon ...he looks round at nubbs ..."Irons gone nubbs ,but as far as i know we all made it, there was crew members lost but the family survived "..."after what has happened ,its made it a lot clearer why we have to put this little one in to hiding until he is older , i know this is going to be so hard but we can never be in a position where someone can use our son as a levering tool to get or hurt who ever they want "

Kidd lays the baby down it his crib and go's and lays next to nubbs .."he's asleep"
they lay there in silence ,rapped up in there own thoughts , slowly the both drift off to sleep .
